Internet has became a big part of our lives. Without watching a YouTube Video or a Netflix Movie, our day won’t get complete. Even with the convenience of a smart phone, most people like to watch their favourite shows and movies on a TV. But, most of the shows and movies are generally not available on TV Channels. That is why people started using Smart TVs which solves both the problems, you would get to watch your favourite movies on a big screen, and it also provides you with a big library of movies and shows available to you at your home.

But, most people don’t know about the issues of using a Smart TV.

Here in this blog, I will be talking about a few Pros and Cons of using a Smart TV at your home.

Pros of buying and using a Smart TV
1. It provides you with a much larger library of TV Shows, Movies, and Music than a cable TV. It can also be used for browsing the web, playing games, listening music, and for watching Movies and Shows streamed on the OTT Platforms.
2. A Smart TV also allows you to mirror your Mobile Screen, and displays all the content showed from your phone on it.
3. Along with that, they are quite cheap as well (When compared to the Normal TVs.)

Cons of using a Smart TV
1. Smart TVs collect your browsing data and uses it for marketing and recommending content, and also shows advertisements related to it. This may seem convenient at the first look, but it may also put all your information to the manufacturer’s hands. And as smart TVs have integrated Camera and Microphone with it, any hacker can spy on you by using it.
2. Smart TV users also experience input lag while pressing a button on the remote or while using the Voice Search option.
3. They do give you the access for using Netflix or Amazon on it, but these Streaming Apps are not just limited to Smart TVs. Streaming Apps are also available on many other devices as well. A few examples of it would be Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, and Chromecast. Getting a Fire TV Stick or Apple TV would cost you less than buying a Smart TV.
