And here in this blog, I will be presenting you the art of making Aloo Tamatar at home. So take a bowl of popcorn, and get ready to dive into an ocean of information about the recipe of Aloo Tamatar.
RECIPE
1. In a pan or cooker, add 1.25 to 1.5 cups of water, and then add 2 potatoes and a pinch of sendha namak or rock salt. And boil the potatoes till they are done.
2. Make sure that the potatoes are just cooked, and have not become crumbly.
3. Cool down the potatoes, and then peel off the skin of it.
4. Then, dice the potatoes, and keep it aside.
5. Heat oil or ghee in a pan, and add a teaspoon of cumin seeds in it, and let them crackle a bit.
6. Add 4-5 medium sized chopped tomatoes, and saute them till they become soft.
7. Then, add 1/4tsp red chilli powder, rock salt and 1/4tsp black pepper as per your requirement. And mix it well.
8. Now, add the chopped potatoes and stir it well.
9. Add a cup of water to it, and stir and let the curry cook for about 8-9 minutes on low flame till it thickens a bit.
10. Mash the potatoes in the curry using a spoon, and garnish it with coriander leaves.
11. Done! Now you can serve it hot along with a few pooris or rotis.
