A meal without a sweet dish seems tasteless. Eating a few pieces of sugar loaded chocolates, mithais (Sweets in Hindi) and candies regularly can be really harmful for your body in the long run. And, even controlling the cravings for sweets is really hard to manage. It gets worse when seeing the local street vendor making your favourite sweet dishes like Jalebis, Ladoos and Barfis. Then you may ask that “Which sweets should we eat?”

No need to worry about it any more. Here, in this blog I will be listing out the Top 3 Healthy Indian Sweets that can help you in your weight loss journey, and will also provide your body with many vitamins and minerals.



NO 1 Peanut Chikki
Peanut Chikki is a delicious, tasty and healthy sweet dish made with Peanuts and Jaggery. It provides your body with many vital vitamins and minerals that makes you much fitter and healthier. It is a traditional Indian Sweet which has a very unique and crispy taste. It manages the cholesterol levels in your body and improves heart health. It also helps in the growth of the body and also flushes out toxins from your skin.

It can easily be made at home by using the following steps:- 
1. Dry roast the peanuts on a medium flame.
2. When the skin begins to come off, that means that it is half done and then it should be continued till the peanuts turns slightly golden
3. Separate the skin from the peanuts after taking it out from the stove. 
4. Crush the peanuts into small pieces.
5. Put the jaggery and heat it on medium flame.
6. Stir the jaggery till it turns into a syrup like consistency.
7. Now, put the peanuts in the jaggery and mix it.
8. After mixing it, put it on a flat surface and wait till it cools down.
9. Cut it into your desired shape and size.
10. Done!



NO 2 Modak
Modals are one of the most popular sweets dishes most enjoyed in festivals and during celebrations. It also helps with in relieving constipation and rebuilds the internal mucus lining and removes all the toxins in the body. It controls the blood pressure and prevents from hypertension. 

It can be made by using the following steps:-
1. Put a tsp of ghee on a pan and put a tablespoon of white poppy seeds. Fry it on a low flame for around 40 seconds.
2. Add 200grams of grated coconut and put 1 cup of jaggery in it.
3. Stir it to cook on a medium flame until all the excess moisture evaporates and the colour becomes brown.
4. The filling is ready! Now pour 1 cup water on a hot pan with a pinch of salt and a tsp of ghee in it.
5. Now put 150grams of wheat flour on the pan and mix it well.
6. Mix it until it turns into a lumpy form.
7. Knead the dough and sprinkle a little hot water on it to make it into a perfect non sticky outer cover.
8. Divide the dough into small balls.
9. Flatten the ball on a surface and put the filling in it.
10. Close the ball and put the Modaks on a steam basket.
11. Done!



NO 3 Oats Kheer
Tasty and creamy, Oats Kheer is a great alternative to the traditional rice kheer. It is also a great snack and a tasty sweet dish that will take you to the heaven while staying on the land. It can be served both hot and cold, and is also a good and healthy breakfast option.

It can be made by using the following steps:-
1. Put a tsp of ghee on a pan, and fry a few cashew nuts until it becomes golden.
2. Add 1 cup of oats on it, and fry it until the colour of it turns golden.
3. Pour the milk and mix it.
4. Cook the mixture until it turns thick.
5. Add a few tsps of cardamom power, and mix it until it dissolves.
6. Turn off the gas and then add jaggery.
7. Mix it, then turn on the gas and boil it until it becomes thick.
8. Pour little ghee in it and stir.
9. Done!
