How to start Gardening?

Does gardening at home sounds hard to do?

Do your plants die because of poor soil or overwatering?

Are your plants not producing fruits?

Now you don’t need to worry about it, in this blog I will be telling you the step by step process from germinating the seeds to harvesting the fruits.

STEP 1

The first step is to choose a pot (The size of the pot will depend on the Size/Shape/Amount of seeds planted), then make a few holes on the bottom of the pot (For better drainage of water) and you may also put a few stones or pebbles on the holes.

For the potting soil, you have to make a mixture of 75% Vermicompost (Vermicompost generally costs around 25 Kg / ₹180) and 25% of Cocopeat (Costs around 450 Gm / ₹120), and you can also mix 2-3% of garden soil (Costs less than Vermicompost).

Now, you have to put the seeds in the soil by making a few small holes (0.5 cm - 1 cm depth should be enough), cover it with the same potting mix and water it gently (Water it only when the top of the soil feels dry).

STEP 2

When the seedling (The small plant) become 4-7 inch tall, you can transplant the plant in a bigger pot.

Don’t place the pot in direct sun when it is not big enough.

For the potting soil, make a mixture of 50 % Garden Soil, 30% Vermicompost and 20% Cocopeat.

Now, water the plant regularly (ideally in the morning).

Watering it excessively can harm the plant and can cause root rot to it.

STEP 3

Flowers may come after a few weeks/months/years depending on the type of plant and conditions where it is grown.

The fruiting will start after pollinating the female flower by the pollens of the male flower of the same plant.

LAST STEP

After the fruits are fully ripened, you can harvest them.

That's It!
